3 reasons Manchester United must sack Ten Hag to salvage season

Manchester United have shown no signs of improvement in three years under Erik ten Hag, and the time has come for them to make a change.

After Sunday’s 2-1 defeat to West Ham, the Red Devils are 14th in the standings and look more like a mid-table side than one of Europe’s biggest clubs.

Here are three reasons why INEOS and the Manchester United board must sack the Dutchman.

1. Waste of resources

95 million pounds on Antony, and 55 million on Mason Mount.. these are just two of the numerous signings made since Ten Hag arrived at Old Trafford. He has failed to improve a single player, and after watching Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund struggle to perform as well this season, there needs to be a decision made quickly.

2. Tactical ineptitude

Ten Hag has proven to have no answer tactically to questions posed by other managers. Despite investing more than 100 million pounds in the midfield since his arrival from Ajax, that remains United’s weakest position, allowing teams to patrol at will. His tactical set-up leaves a lot to be desired and nothing seems to be changing, especially as the league becomes saturated with elite managers.

3. Poor results

There’s no way to sugarcoat this, the performances have been terrible, but perhaps things would have been tolerable if the results were improving. United have won just 3 games in the league this season and 4 games across all competitions (13 games). After leading the club to their worst-ever league finish last season, Ten Hag is determined to go a step further. INEOS must act fast to avoid falling even further.
