Ademola Lookman won’t be part of the Super Eagles squad to face the Amavubi of Rwanda tonight in Uyo.
The forward according to coach Austin Eguavoen, pleaded to be excused from the team citing fitness concerns.
“He is slightly hurt and can’t play…he said that he is at 70%.”
Eguavoen added that he was the one that granted the 2024 Ballon D’or nominee to return to Atalanta after his appeal.
Ademola Lookman has been instrumental to Super Eagles qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations with 2 goals in 4 games.
Unfortunately, the forward had two goals erroneously ruled out during the qualifiers against Rwanda and Libya due to poor officiating.
The Super Nigeria of Nigeria qualified for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations following Libya’s away win at Rwanda Thursday last week.
The match against Rwanda is hold at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo later day. Kick-off is 5 p.m.
