Super Eagles midfielder, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru was an unused substitute as Lazio secured a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Lecce at Via del Mar in the Serie A on Saturday evening.
Lazio took the lead just before halftime, with Valentin Castellanos converting a penalty in the third minute of stoppage time to give the visitors the advantage ahead of the break.
Lecce drew level five minutes after the restart through Tete Morente whose effort found the bottom corner.
The match intensified as Lecce played with ten men following a red card issued to one of their players. Despite the numerical advantage, Lazio struggled to break down Lecce’s defense. It wasn’t until the 87th minute that Lazio’s persistence paid off when Adam Marusic scored the decisive goal, securing the win for the visitors.
Lazio’s win moves them up to fourth on the Serie A standings with 34 points from 17 games.
