In a thrilling Legends El Clásico held at Estadio Juan Ramón Loubriel in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, Real Madrid Leyendas edged out Barça Legends 4-3 in a penalty shootout after a 1-1 draw in regular time.
The match, played on Sunday, March 23, 2025, captivated a crowd of 20,791 fans.
Barça Legends struck early, with Gaizka Mendieta scoring a stunning goal from outside the area in the 3rd minute, leaving goalkeeper Iker Casillas with no chance.
Throughout the first half, Ludovic Giuly posed a constant threat, forcing a notable save from Casillas. Despite the creative efforts of Rivaldo and Roberto Trashorras in midfield, Barça couldn’t extend their lead before halftime.
After the break, Real Madrid Leyendas gained momentum. Goalkeeper Jesús Angoy, who replaced Vítor Baia, made crucial saves to deny efforts from Balbao and Antonio Moral.
