Former Manchester United striker Louis Saha has sanctioned Victor Osimhen’s potential move to Manchester United ahead of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United have been heavily linked to Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker as they look to solve their ill-luck in front of goal this season with Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.
Louis Saha, the former French international says Osimhen has the characteristics to succeed at the club and has proven himself in the French Ligue, Serie A and currently, the Turkish Super League.
The two-time Premier League winner shared his thoughts on Osimhen in quotes relayed by Mega Dice.
I really like Victor Osimhen. He’s definitely got the character, he’s got the quality. He’s also got good European pedigree. He was a success in France, he was a champion in Italy with Napoli and he’s gone to Turkey with Galatasaray and been brilliant, a move that he probably didn’t want, let’s be honest.
He’s scored goals at every level. He’s got Champions League experience, and further more, he’s got the type of personality and charisma that this United squad could really benefit from.
Louis Saha also added that Victor Osimhen will be a transformational signing for Ruben Amorim as he believes he is what the club needs right now.
I think he would be a transformational signing for Manchester United. If you think about the pressure that he was under at Napoli, firing the club to its first title in 33 years, then he’s the perfect man to lead the line for Manchester United.
I think he would have a huge impact at United. I would love to see the club hierarchy move for him, I think he is exactly what we need,” the 46-year-old concluded.
Saha scored 42 goals in 142 matches for Manchester United during his four-year stint at the club.
Manchester United are undergoing their worst season yet in Premier League history with 15 losses with five matches left before the end of the season. The Red Devils are in fourteenth place with 38 points from 33 matches.
However, the Red Devils are on course to qualify for the Champions League next season via the Europa League route. Manchester United will take on Athletic Bilbao in the semi-final for a place in the final. The winner of the Europa League qualifies for the UEFA Champions League.
