The curtain fell on the 2024/25 Bundesliga season today with dramatic action across Germany as Bayern Munich lifted their 33rd league title in dominant fashion.
Borussia Dortmund completed a stunning late-season resurgence to claim the final Champions League berth, and Bayer Leverkusen etched their name into the history books with a new unbeaten away record.
Bayern Munich produced a fitting finale to their championship-winning campaign with a commanding 4–0 victory over Hoffenheim.
Michael Olise opened the scoring with a superb free-kick, while Joshua Kimmich and Serge Gnabry added to the tally before Harry Kane sealed the win with his 26th league goal of the season.
Kane’s strike not only underlined his status as the Bundesliga’s top scorer but also helped Bayern equal their all-time league scoring record with 99 goals.
The match also marked an emotional farewell for veteran Thomas Müller, who made his final Bundesliga appearance, capping off an era at the club.
Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund ensured their place in next season’s UEFA Champions League with a convincing 3–0 win over relegated Holstein Kiel.
Goals from Serhou Guirassy, Marcel Sabitzer, and Felix Nmecha highlighted a dominant performance.
Under the guidance of coach Niko Kovač, Dortmund completed one of the most remarkable turnarounds in Bundesliga history, winning six of their final seven matches to leapfrog their rivals and finish fourth with 57 points.
Bayer Leverkusen, who had long secured second place behind Bayern, drew 2–2 away at Mainz 05 but still managed to set a new Bundesliga record by extending their unbeaten away run to 34 matches.
Patrik Schick netted a brace for the visitors, while Jonathan Burkardt’s penalty and a disallowed late goal for Mainz added to the drama.
The result secured sixth place for Mainz, earning them a berth in next season’s UEFA Conference League.
Eintracht Frankfurt capped off a consistent campaign with a 3–1 win over SC Freiburg, which saw them finish third and secure a return to the Champions League.
Despite the loss, Freiburg ended the season in fifth and qualified for the Europa League, thanks to their overall strong performance.
At the bottom end of the table, both Holstein Kiel and VfL Bochum were relegated to the 2. Bundesliga. FC Heidenheim, meanwhile, will enter a promotion/relegation playoff to determine their fate for next season.
As the dust settled on a thrilling season, the final standings confirmed Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Borussia Dortmund as the league’s representatives in the 2025/26 Champions League.
Freiburg will compete in the Europa League, while Mainz will enter the Conference League.
