Nigeria’s top table tennis player, Quadri Aruna, broke his two-match losing streak against Germany’s Benedikt Duda with a 4–2 victory.
The match, held at the Inspire Arena in Incheon, South Korea, saw Aruna overcome his formidable opponent in six sets: 11–9, 8–11, 11–7, 9–11, 11–6, 11–8.
This win marks a significant turnaround for Aruna, who had previously suffered consecutive defeats to Duda, including a 3–0 loss at the WTT Champions Montpellier in October 2024 and a 3–1 setback at the WTT Champions Incheon in April 2025.
Aruna’s performance was characterized by powerful forehand drives and strategic play, allowing him to dictate the pace and keep Duda on the defensive.

The match’s momentum swung back and forth, but Aruna’s determination and tactical adjustments proved decisive in the final two sets.
This triumph adds to Aruna’s impressive 2025 season, which includes a semifinal appearance at the WTT Star Contender Doha and reclaiming the Africa No. 1 ranking.
With this win, Aruna not only halts his losing streak against a challenging opponent but also sets a positive tone for his upcoming matches in the World Table Tennis circuit.
