Jadon Sancho has officially announced his departure from Chelsea, marking the end of his season-long loan from Manchester United.
The 25-year-old winger took to social media to express his gratitude to the club, stating, “Grateful for the experience. Big love to everyone at Chelsea who made me feel at home – teammate, staff and fans. Wishing the club all the best moving forward. Truly grateful, thank you Blues.”
Sancho’s loan agreement included a £25 million obligation to buy, contingent upon Chelsea finishing at least 14th in the Premier League.
Despite the club securing a fourth-place finish, Chelsea opted not to activate the clause, instead paying a £5 million penalty to Manchester United to forgo the permanent transfer.
During his time at Stamford Bridge, Sancho made 41 appearances across all competitions, contributing five goals and ten assists.
Notably, he scored in Chelsea’s 4–1 victory over Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final, helping the club secure its first European trophy since 2021.

Despite these contributions, Sancho’s inconsistent performances and high wage demands, reportedly £250,000 per week, led Chelsea to reconsider a permanent deal.
Sancho’s future remains uncertain, as Manchester United has indicated he is not part of their plans for the upcoming season and has placed him on the transfer market.
A return to Borussia Dortmund has been speculated, given Sancho’s previous success at the Bundesliga club and reports of his desire to return.
As the summer transfer window approaches, Sancho will be evaluating his options, seeking a club where he can reignite his career and consistently showcase his talents on the pitch.
