Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has been awarded an honourary degree by the University of Manchester.
The Spanish gaffer received his honourary degree in a ceremony in a ceremony held at the University on Monday.
Manchester City in a statement on its official X handle say the University honored Guardiola for his contribution on and off the pitch in the city for the past nine years.

“Pep Guardiola has been awarded an honorary degree by The University of Manchester, recognising his extraordinary contribution to our city over nine years on and off the pitch!”
Pep Guardiola runs a non-profit organization in the city, “The Guardiola Sala Foundation” which is aimed at rasing funds for established charities in the city.
The foundation is named after his late mother Dolors Sala Carrió who died after contracting Coronavirus in April 2020.
The 55-year-old also supports an NGO called Open Arms Charity. The organization conducts research and rescue operations for vulnerable refugee boats in Mediterranean Sea.
In 2023, Pep Guardiola donated over £700,000 of his earnings to first-team staff of Manchester City after winning the Premier League.
Guardiola since his arrival in Manchester, has led Manchester City to six Premier League titles in nine years.
