Stars of Nigerian descent set to shine at Club World Cup 2025

As the FIFA Club World Cup 2025 kicks off in the USA, several standout players with Nigerian heritage will take to the pitch, showcasing the growing influence of the Nigerian diaspora on football’s global stage.

 

Tosin Adarabioyo (Chelsea, England)

Born in London to Nigerian parents, Adarabioyo brings Premier League experience to Chelsea’s squad at the Club World Cup. A product of Manchester City’s academy, he now fortifies Chelsea’s defense, proudly carrying his dual English–Nigerian identity into the tournament.

Michael Olise (Bayern Munich, France)

The versatile playmaker, born in England to a Nigerian father and French-Algerian mother, chose to represent France internationally. Now at Bayern Munich, Olise brings flair and creativity to the midfield. He speaks openly about his four-nation heritage—France, Algeria, Nigeria, and Great Britain—calling it a source of personal enrichment.

 

Noni Madueke (Chelsea, England)

Karim Adeyemi (Borrusia Dortmund, Germany)

Jamal Musiala (Bayern Munich, Germany)

Manuel Akanji (Manchester City, Switzerland)
