Nigerian footballers are making their mark worldwide, and as the 2025-26 Turkish Super Lig season kicks off, five stars are set to shine. From proven talents to rising names, these players will bring their talent to the shores of Turkey.

Victor Osimhen (Galatasaray)
Osimhen has become one of the world’s most feared strikers, and after completing a permanent move to Galatasaray from Napoli for €75m, all eyes will be on the 26-year-old to justify the Turkish transfer record.
Last season, Osimhen dominated last season with 26 goals to win the Golden Boot and secure the Super Lig title, and will be a key player as Galatasaray push to win even more trophies this season.
Paul Onuachu (Trabzonspor)
At 31, Onuachu still has a lot to offer, even after a disappointing spell with English side Southampton.
The lanky forward, now a permanent Trabzonspor player, scored 17 goals on loan in 2023-24. He opened the 2025-26 season with a goal in a 1-0 win over Kocaelispor.
Wilfred Ndidi (Besiktas)
The 28-year-old midfielder joined Besiktas for €9.5m from Leicester City in August 2025. His experience, energy, and creativity will offer Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men a huge boost as they look to challenge for the title.
Ibrahim Olawoyin (Çaykur Rizespor)
Olawoyin is one player to watch out for in the Turkish league this season. He is full of energy, pushing forward from midfield, and contributing with goals and assists. Certainly one to watch out for.
Henry Onyekuru (Gençlerbirliği)
The 28-year-old winger, back in Turkey with Gençlerbirliği, has 28 goals in 83 Super Lig games, and has huge experience of playing in the Super Lig. He still has a lot to offer and will be expected to be a major star in the club’s ambitions this season
