Borussia Dortmund returned to winning ways with a commanding 3–0 victory over Union Berlin at Signal Iduna Park. Summer signing Serhou Guirassy was the star of the show, scoring twice to extend his remarkable run of goals in seven straight Bundesliga appearances.
The Guinean striker broke the deadlock just before halftime, added a second after the break, and Felix Nmecha sealed the win late on as Dortmund produced a far more controlled display than in last week’s 3–3 draw with St. Pauli.
In Cologne, 1. FC Köln thrilled their home crowd with a 4–1 demolition of Freiburg. Goals from Kamiński, Bülter, Thielmann, and El Mala put the game beyond doubt before Maximilian Eggestein struck a late consolation for the visitors. The result leaves Köln with two wins from two to start the season, underlining their strong early momentum.
Elsewhere, Wolfsburg were denied all three points at the Volkswagen Arena after Mainz snatched a dramatic late equaliser. Zehnter’s early strike had put the hosts ahead, but Nadiem Amiri converted a penalty in the 89th minute to earn Mainz a share of the spoils.
The results see Dortmund and Köln pushing up the early table, while Wolfsburg and Mainz settle for a point apiece as the Bundesliga heads into the international break.
