Postecoglou Appointed Al-Nassr Head Coach on Two-Year Deal

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou has been appointed as the new head coach of Saudi Pro League champions Al-Nassr on a two-year contract.

The 60-year-old Australian tactician takes over the Riyadh-based club following the departure of veteran Portuguese coach Jorge Jesus, who left at the end of the 2025/26 campaign.

Postecoglou returns to management after spending several months away from the dugout. He had been out of work since his brief spell at Nottingham Forest ended in October, just 39 days after his appointment. During his time away, he worked as a television pundit for ITV during the FIFA World Cup.

The former Celtic and Tottenham boss now takes charge of an Al-Nassr side captained by Portugal icon Cristiano Ronaldo. The club secured the Saudi Pro League title in May, ending a long wait to be crowned champions.

Postecoglou arrives in Saudi Arabia with an impressive coaching résumé. He guided Tottenham to UEFA Europa League glory in 2025, ending the club’s lengthy trophy drought. Before his time in North London, he enjoyed major success at Celtic, leading the Scottish giants to consecutive Scottish Premiership titles while earning widespread praise for his attacking style of football.

Al-Nassr will hope the experienced coach can build on their recent domestic success and make a strong challenge for both domestic and continental honours under their new manager.
