Matchweek 3 of the 2026/27 Premier League season delivered another weekend of drama, with Arsenal coming from behind to beat Chelsea, Manchester City maintaining their perfect start and Crystal Palace claiming their first win of the campaign.
Arsenal secured the biggest result of the weekend, overturning an early deficit to beat Chelsea 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.
Chelsea took the lead inside two minutes through Morgan Rogers, but Kai Havertz equalised in the 25th minute before Arsenal captain Martin Ødegaard completed the comeback five minutes after half-time.
The victory keeps Mikel Arteta’s side on nine points from three matches, level with Manchester City at the top of the table.
City also maintained their 100 per cent record with a narrow 1-0 victory over newly promoted Coventry City at the Etihad Stadium. Erling Haaland scored the decisive goal as City retained top spot on goal difference.
Liverpool began the weekend with a 2-0 win away to Ipswich Town on Friday. Alexander Isak scored both goals at Portman Road to give the reds their first win of the season
Elsewhere, Crystal Palace came from behind to beat Fulham 3-2 at Craven Cottage and record their first points of the season.
Manchester United were held to a 2-2 draw by Everton in Sunday’s early kick-off, while Newcastle United and Bournemouth also shared the points after a 2-2 draw.
There were goalless draws between Nottingham Forest and Tottenham Hotspur, and Hull City and Aston Villa, with the latter result extending promoted Hull’s unbeaten start to the season.
Brentford and Sunderland played out a 1-1 draw, while Brighton and Leeds United also shared the points in another 1-1 draw.
After three rounds of fixtures, Manchester City and Arsenal lead the table on nine points, with Hull City the surprise package in third on seven points.
