Viktor Gyökeres says he will be on a revenge mission ahead of his potential move to Arsenal Football Club this summer.
The Swedish striker is close to joining the Gunners as talks continue between Sporting Lisbon and Arsenal as regards his transfer fee.
Gyökeres has reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal in a contract worth five years pending an agreement with Sporting Lisbon and Arsenal.
The 27-year-old striker has also agreed to let go of €2 million of his salary and hasn’t showed up for pre-season training in a bid to hasten his move to North London.
Viktor Gyökeres told French Newspaper L’Équipé thta his imminent return to England will be a great revenge.
“I only think about scoring and winning. It changes everything”.
“Premier League? I spent several years there without being able to play a single match. So, of course, it’s something I’d like to do”.
“It would be great revenge!”
Viktor Gyökeres had stints with Brighton Under-23 team from 2017-2019 but never got the chance to play in the Premier League.
He also had stints with Swansea and Coventry in the England Championship where he had a decent outing for the Sky Blues.
Viktor Gyökeres had a stellar 2024/2025 season where he scored 54 goals in 52 matches for Sporting Lisbon.
