Nigeria’s Falconets have booked their place in the quarter-finals of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup after a convincing 3–0 victory over England U20.
Tosin Rafiu opened the scoring in the 8th minute, giving Nigeria an early advantage. Captain Christiana Uzoma then produced a crucial moment before half-time, saving Rachel Maltby’s penalty to preserve the Falconets’ lead.
Nigeria doubled their advantage just two minutes after the restart, with Seimeyeha Janet Akekoromowei finding the net in the 47th minute.
Mary Mamudu completed the scoring in the 73rd minute as the Falconets sealed their second victory of the tournament and their place in the last eight.
The result takes Nigeria’s tournament tally to 13 goals in four matches, with two clean sheets recorded so far.
The Falconets will return to action in the quarter-finals on 20 September 2026, with Nigeria set to face Poland or Colombia at Stadion Miejski ŁKS Łódź.
