Former Inter Milan striker Nicola Ventola has publicly claimed that Nigerian international Ademola Lookman was unfairly treated during the summer transfer window after his desired move from Atalanta to Inter Milan collapsed.

Lookman, who helped Atalanta win the UEFA Europa League after joining from RB Leipzig in 2022, attempted to force a move to the Nerazzurri over the summer.
The 27-year-old submitted a transfer request and reportedly skipped training, but ultimately ended up staying in Bergamo.
Ventola believes Lookman was let down by broken assurances during the saga. Speaking to Viva el Futbol, the 47-year-old retired footballer said:
“Personally, Lookman, in my opinion, is the one who suffered an injustice in the summer.
“After two years, there have been promises not fulfilled,” he claimed, as quoted by (FCInter1908).
The comments highlight the widespread speculation that the forward had been assured of a transfer following his successful two-year spell at Atalanta, making his return to the club a frustrating outcome.
