Ademola Lookman not in danger of missing World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda, Zimbabwe

Lookman is not likely to miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe despite being currently injured

Eric Chelle can be assured he would have the services of reigning African Footballer of the Year Ademola Lookman during the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in March.

Lookman is currently injured but recovering pretty fast after missing the last couple of games for Atalanta.

The 27-year-old suffered an injury a few hours before the last month’s UEFA Champions League fixture away at Barcelona.

Reports in Italy suggest that Lookman is very likely to return to the team in about two weeks and could be available for selection when Atalanta take on Empoli away from home.

Lookman before his injury, has 16 goals. five assists in 25 matches this season.

Ademola Lookman could play up to three Serei A games: Empoli, Venezia, and Juventus, before resuming to the Super Eagles camp for the qualifiers.

The Super Eagles will take on Rwanda away on 21 March at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali and Zimbabwe five days later at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium.

Eric Chelle is condemned to start his reign as Super Eagles new manager on a wining note as he looks to steer the team to secure qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after a poor start to the series.

The Super Eagles are currently fifth in Group C with three points after their four opening matches.
