AFCON 2025: 22 Super Eagles train in Abidjan for Benin Republic

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have stepped up their preparations for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification matchup with the Cheetahs of Benin Republic.

The club held their first training session at the Stade Felix Houphouet-Boigny on Tuesday, and Sadiq Umar, a forward for Real Sociedad, is the only player who has not yet arrived.

Details of the players’ arrival at camp were provided to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) by coach Augustine Eguavoen.

He said, “We have 22 players, with only one person to join the team in the early hours of Wednesday.

“It has been a particularly great atmosphere here in Abidjan, and we are all very positive going into the first training session ahead of the match.”
