German coach Bruno Labbadia is now reportedly restarted talks to take charge of Nigeria’s senior men’s football team.
Labbadia may have resolved contract disputes with the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to assume leadership of the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Labbadia posted on his official Instagram account, announcing a “New chapter” with the Nigerian flag in the caption.
Before the NFF revealed that negotiations had broken down over who would be in charge of paying his taxes in Germany and Nigeria, he was scheduled to lead the Super Eagles in the 2025 African Cup of Nations AFCON qualifiers against the Cheetahs of Benin and the Amavubi of Rwanda.
Labbadia was not very happy that the NFF had announced his hiring before a formal agreement was in place.
Austin Eguavoen, the NFF technical director, oversaw the squad during the 2025 AFCON qualifiers and delivered encouraging results.
The Super Eagles will continue their AFCON qualification series against Libya with a doubleheader matchup next month.
The NFF are expected to make a formal statement on the Super Eagles team ahead of the next international break.
