Ajibade slams CAF over poor WAFCON accommodation standards

Super Falcons captain, Rasheedat Ajibade has taken a swipe at the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for what she described as substandard accommodation provided to players at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.

In an Instagram story posted on Thursday, the 25-year-old shared a photo of her assigned room, showing two separate beds squeezed into a small space. She criticised the quality and size of the room, describing it as “kitchen-size” and unworthy of a prestigious continental tournament.

“Two professional women players in this kitchen-size room in a prestigious (WAFCON) @caf_online @cafwomenfootball you can do better,” Ajibade wrote alongside the image.

The Super Falcons had just arrived in Casablanca on Thursday following a short training camp in Morocco, where they defeated Ghana 3-1 in a preparatory match.

Nigeria is set to begin its WAFCON campaign on Sunday against Tunisia at the Larbi Zaouli Stadium in Casablanca. The nine-time champions will then take on Botswana and Algeria in their other group fixtures.
