Al Nassr continued their strong run of form on Wednesday night with a hard-fought 2:0 victory against rivals Al Ahli in the Saudi Pro League, a result that keeps them firmly at the top of the table.
The spotlight, however, once again fell on Cristiano Ronaldo, who added another goal to his extraordinary career tally. The Portuguese forward netted his 970th career goal, edging even closer to the unprecedented 1,000-goal landmark in professional football.
In the 84th minute, Cristiano Ronaldo headed in a corner kick from Joao Felix, and late in the 90th minute Kingsley Coman scored the 2nd goal for Al Nassr.
Ronaldo’s strike further extended his remarkable consistency in front of goal, even in the later stages of his career.
Since joining Al Nassr, Ronaldo has remained a central figure in the club’s ambitions, contributing goals, leadership, and experience as they compete domestically and in continental competitions.
Cristiano has played 32 games for Al Nassr this season, scoring 27 goals and providing 4 Assists
His latest milestone adds to a record that already places him among the greatest goalscorers in football history.
With the season still ongoing, attention now turns to whether the 41-year-old forward can push beyond the 970 mark and edge closer to the historic 1,000-goal achievement before hanging up his boots.
