Brazilian forward, Roberto Firmino has completed a move to Qatari powerhouse Al Sadd SC, signing a contract that will keep him at the club until 2027.

The 33-year-old joins from Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia, bringing an end to his two-year spell in the Saudi Pro League.

Firmino joined Al Ahli in 2023 after leaving Liverpool, where he enjoyed a highly successful eight-year spell, winning the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FA Cup, and other major honours.

At Al Ahli, he was a standout performer, contributing 21 goals and 17 assists in 65 appearances across all competitions.

He played a crucial role in the club’s historic 2025 AFC Champions League Elite triumph, delivering six goals and two assists during the tournament, including a man-of-the-match performance in the final against Japan’s Kawasaki Frontale.

Despite his contributions, Firmino was deregistered midway through the 2024–25 season due to foreign player limits after Al Ahli signed Brazilian winger Galeno.

His contract with the Saudi club was originally set to run until 2026, but a mutual termination allowed Al Sadd to secure his services on a free transfer.

With his blend of experience, creativity, and professionalism, Firmino’s arrival is expected to enhance Al Sadd’s front line as they prepare for the upcoming Asian Champions League Elite campaign.
