Alex Iwobi bags brace as Fulham beat Brighton at Craven Cottage.

Alex Iwobi was the most outstanding player for Fulham as the Cottagers thump Brighton in a Premier League fixture on Thursday night.

The Super Eagles midfielder found the back of the net not once but twice as Fulham got back to winning with a 3-1 over the visitors.

Marco Silva’s side have been winless in two games after the heavy loss at home to Wolves and the one-all draw at Tottenham on Sunday.

However, Iwobi’s brace and an own goal from Matt O’Riley got Fulham back on the winning path in front of their fans.

Iwobi gave the Fulham a very early lead as he capitalize from a defensive blunder to score his 4th league goal of the season.

Bernd Leno saved Joao Pedro’s strike towards goal a few minutes to keep Fulham in the lead.

Brighton kept the preasure on Fulham’s defense and once again Leno made a good save to deny Simon Adingra from an equalizer.

Unfortunately, Fulham couldn’t hold on for long as Carlos Baleba powered a precise strike into the bottom corner from the edge of the box to draw level a few minutes into the second half

Fulham got back into the lead abiut 10 minutes from time via a Matt O’Riley’s unfortunate own goal.

While the visitors tried to get back into the game for the second time, Alex Iwobi scored again to put the game beyond their reach.

Iwobi found his way past two Brighton defenders in the box before bending the ball into the far-right corner to give Fulham 3-1 win.

Alex Iwobi contributed to Fulham’s last five league goals, scoring twice and providing an assist. He also surpassed his Premier League goal involvement from the entire 2023/2024 season (7), directly contributing to 8 goals in just 14 matches this season.
