AFCON 2025
Super Eagles and Fulham FC midfielder Alex Iwobi has been named among the 2025 Football Black List recipients in the “Players – Off the Pitch” category.
The award is aimed at recognising and celebrating the contributions of footballers to the community off the pitch.
Alex Iwobi is the founder of “Project 17” – The project is aimed at sharing things learnt from football with his fans and followers and some off-the-pitch moments.
The former Arsenal and Everton midfielder aims to inspire young people to achieve their goals, reach their full potential and be their truest selves.
Project 17 will include his community engagements, content and endorsements.
Other recipients of the recognition include Arsenal’s Eberechi Eze, Shakira Waithe, a Barbados footballer & football coach, Oxford Women’s footballer, Naomi Bedeu, and Gotham FC Jess Carter.
