American tennis Star Amanda Anisimova stunned Women’s singles world number 1 Aryna Sabalenka to reach her first career Grand Slam.
Anisimova ended Sabalenka’s chance of attempting a shot at winning her first Wimbledon title with a convincing semi-final win at Center Court on Thursday afternoon.
The 23-year-old world number 12 came into the match having won five of their last eight meetings on different surfaces.
Amanda Anisimova won all her serves, broke Sabalenka in the last game to win the first set 6-4, which lasted close to an hour.
However, Sabalenka came strong in the second set as she broke Anisimova in the seventh game to take a 4-3 lead.

Sabalenka won her next two serves to wrap up the second set with 6-4, to even the score going into the deciding set.
Amisimova started the final set with great intent as she broke Sabalenka twice to take a 3-1 lead. The American won her next two serves to lead the deciding set 5-2 as Sabalenka struggled to contain her opponent’s backend strokes.
Sabalenka attempted a late charge as she broke Aminisova in the deciding game to close the gap to 4-5.
However, the Belarusian failed to take the game to a tie-break as she lost her serve to hand Anisimova a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 win.
Amanda Aminsimova will take on either Iga Swiatek or Belinda Bencic in Saturday’s final.
