Manchester United manager, Ruben Amorim has dismissed the incident that happened with Ed Sheeran on Sunday claiming “it was nothing”.
The Portuguese’s interview with Sky Sports was gatecrashed by the British pop star who later posted an apology on his Instagram story claiming he was not aware that Amorim was being interviewed.
When asked about the incident, Amorim said: “Yeah, here you are used to seeing that but in Portugal it is so different.
“I think you sometimes overcomplicate things. It was nothing. It was a simple question, or say hello to one of the commentators, so for me it was nothing.
“I just was thinking about the game, and I was with Roy Keane. Roy Keane is the real star in that panel! So, for me, it was really, really OK. It was nothing special.”
Things didn’t quite go to plan for Amorim as he was denied a first win in charge after United were held to a 1-1 draw away at Ipswich Town.
He will be searching for his first win as United host Bodo Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.
