British-Nigerian boxing champion, Anthony Joshua paid a courtesy visit to Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on New Year’s Day.
During the meeting, Governor Sanwo-Olu expressed his delight in hosting Joshua, highlighting Lagos’s vibrant culture and its role as a source of inspiration for global icons.
Governor Sanwo-Olu stated on X, “Our city is a hub of fun, culture, and endless inspiration, and it’s always a joy to host champions like Anthony, who draw motivation from our vibrant energy and spirit.” He encouraged Joshua to continue inspiring the world with his determination, adding, “Lagos stands proudly behind him, just as we celebrate every champion who finds strength and purpose in our city.”
Joshua’s visit to Lagos is part of his broader engagement with Nigerian leaders, following recent meetings with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun.
