Real Betis were aiming to build momentum for their UEFA Conference League final against Chelsea next week, but had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Valencia.
The breakthrough came in the 40th minute when Antony, set up by Isco just inside the box, curled a precise left-footed shot into the far post, ending his three-game scoring drought and giving Betis the lead.
The second half was subdued, typical of an end-of-season match with little at stake, though Valencia still had a slim shot at a top-half finish.
Their hopes stayed alive thanks to a stunning save from Giorgi Mamardashvili, who denied Abde Ezzalzouli’s effort.
Valencia equalized 15 minutes from time through Rafa Mir’s first-time strike, his debut La Liga goal for the club.
Betis pushed late but settled for a draw, their third straight game without a win, as they now focus on the upcoming final.
