Liverpool manager Arne Slot has singled out Chelsea as a serious contender to challenge his team for the Premier League title this season.
Slot had highlighted the Blues as potential rivals last year, though they ended up in fourth place. The Dutch tactician is once again eyeing Enzo Maresca’s squad as the one capable of snatching the crown.

Liverpool claimed the title in Slot’s debut campaign and will kick off their title defense against Bournemouth on Friday.
However, Slot is already viewing Chelsea as a potential obstacle to their goal of holding onto the championship.
“I expected them to win last season already,” he told talkSPORT.

“The amount of quality they have, and they were there at the start of the season. They were in [the title race] after ten games.
“They were still there [in December]. Squad depth, quality, they have a very good manager as well, and I think they’ve shown this by winning the trophies they won last season.”
