Barcelona activate new lever for January window amid Salah, Gyokeres interest

Barcelona have reportedly activated a final “lever” to comply with La Liga’s 1:1 spending rules, paving the way for potential signings in the January transfer window.

The club has been operating under stricter 1:4 rules due to financial difficulties but is now close to meeting La Liga’s financial demands.

Two major agreements are expected to be finalized, including a new Nike kit manufacturing deal worth €1.7 billion over 14 years.

This deal, set to be formalized on December 21, will help Barcelona meet La Liga’s requirements.

With the “lever” activated, Barcelona will be allowed to return to the 1:1 rule, giving them more flexibility to make signings.

Meanwhile, Hansi Flick is reportedly interested in strengthening his attack, with Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, who is out of contract next summer, have been identified as potential targets.

Barcelona expect to be able to operate at 1:1 in the January transfer window, although they are not expected to utilise their impending financial power just yet.

Indeed, the focus this winter will be on contract renewals and registering key players in their squad.
