Breaking! Enyimba Training Disrupted As Sporting Director Storms Stadium With RRS Officials

Drama unfolded at the training ground of Enyimba Football Club on Monday as member of the Rapid Response Squad of the Nigerian Police whisked away officials of the club.

Tension erupted on Monday following an alleged assault on the club’s Director, Daniel Eke, by aggrieved individuals following the home loss to Inter Lagos on Sunday.

According to a witness report, Mr. Eke arrived at the facility accompanied by officers reportedly from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS), which resulted in a complete halt to the team’s training.

It was also confirmed that the stadium manager and three security officials involved in the assault on Mr Eke were removed from the training facility.

This incident follows Enyimba’s 1-0 home loss to Inter Lagos in Aba on Sunday, a defeat that extended the team’s terrible start to the season.

Anonymous sources cited that the Sporting Director allegedly celebrated Inter Lagos’ victory yesterday, which resulted in the attack on him.

Meanwhile, club chairman Kanu Nwankwo has reportedly stepped in to resolve the situation.

Several videos circulating online showed the veteran Super Eagles forward walking into the police sataion where the club officials were detained.

The club has not yet released an official statement regarding the incident as of the time of this report.
