Manchester United’s midfielder Bruno Fernandes has equalled the Premier League assist record after clocking his 20th of the season.
The Portuguese midfielder provided the the assist to Bryan Mbuemo ‘s goal as Manchester United beat Nottingham Forest in their final game of the season.
Mbuemo, after missing a glorious chance off a pass from Fernandes got to the end of the latter’s pass into the box to register his first goal since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.
Bruno Fernandes becomes only the third player after Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne to reach 20 assists in a single Premier League season.
Fernandes has the chance to create a new Premier League assist record as Manchester United take on Brighton and Hove Albion in the final game of the season next Sunday.
Meanwhile the 3-2 victory means Manchester United will finish third at the end of the Premier League season.
