Bukayo Saka’s lone goal against AC Milan handed Arsenal their first trophy of the season. The England international scored a second-half goal to give the Gunners a 1-0 victory over the Rossoneri in a preseason friendly match at Singapore National Stadium.
Mikel Arteta fielded a pretty strong eleven against Milan with Declan Rice, Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz, William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli, and new signing Christian Norgaard.
Despite dominating the first half, the Gunners struggled to find the back of the net with three shots on target.
However, Arsenal eventually broke the deadlock as Bukayo Saka got to the end of a brilliant cross from Jakub Kiwior eight minutes after the restart.
Arsenal couldn’t increase their lead despite having six shots on target in the second half as the match ended 1-0.
However, AC Milan won the exhibition tie 6-5 on penalties, but Arsenal lifted the trophy after winning in regulation time.
Arsenal will take on Newcastle on July 27th as they continue their run of preseason matches in preparation for the new football season.
