Edo Queens have booked their place in the final of the WAFU B Women’s Champions League after an emphatic 5-1 victory over hosts USFA in Wednesday’s semi-final.
The Nigerian champions took control of the contest in the 17th minute when Atume Doosuur found the back of the net to give Edo Queens an early advantage.
Chioma Moses doubled the lead two minutes before half-time, before Valentina Uroko added a third with a superb long-range free-kick in first-half stoppage time.
Edo Queens continued their dominance after the break, with Doshima Tarnum extending the lead shortly after the restart.
Aminat Folorunsho completed the rout two minutes after the hour mark, scoring Edo Queens’ fifth goal of the match.
USFA managed to score a late consolation from a free-kick, but the goal did little to diminish a commanding display from the Nigerian champions.
Edo Queens will now face either Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa or Benin Republic’s Dynamique FC in the final.
