Burnley sign Kyle Walker on two-year deal

Burnley have officially completed the signing of seasoned England international Kyle Walker on a two-year contract, marking a major coup for the Premier League newcomers ahead of the 2025/26 season.

The 35-year-old defender reunites with former Tottenham Hotspur and England teammate Scott Parker, now Burnley’s manager, in a move that underscores the club’s ambition to consolidate their top-flight status.

Boasting an illustrious career that includes 410 Premier League appearances and a glittering trophy cabinet, Walker arrives at Turf Moor following a brief loan stint with AC Milan.

Prior to that, he spent seven trophy-laden years at Manchester City, where he won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, a UEFA Champions League, and multiple domestic cups. He was also a four-time Premier League Team of the Year honoree and a key figure in City’s historic 2023/24 treble-winning campaign.

Internationally, Walker has amassed 96 caps for England and was recently named in the UEFA Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament, underlining his continued excellence at the highest level.

Speaking on his decision to join Burnley, Walker expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge and credited Parker’s vision as a driving factor behind the move.

“I’m delighted to be here,” he said. “When I spoke to Scott and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at. He’s done an amazing job, guiding the Club back to the Premier League with 100 points, and now we’re building towards competing in the greatest league in the world.”
