The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have appointed Ghanaian referee, Daniel Nii Ayi Laryea as the center referee for the semi-final clash between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Atlas Lions of Morocco.
He will be assisted by Zakhele Siwela and Souru Phatsone as his first and second assistants while Abongile Tom will be in charge of VAR.
Daniel Laryea was the VAR official in the quarter-final fixture between Morocco and Cameroon with two questionable incidents which were not reviewed.
He has been a FIFA-listed referee since 2014, meaning he is qualified to officiate major global and continental matches.
Laryea has officiated in major competitions such as the Africa Cup of Nations, CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup, CAF Women’s Champions League, and African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Nigeria will take on host, Morocco in a high-stake semi-final clash at the Stade Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Wednesday night.
