Head coach of Brazil’s men’s senior football team, Carlo Ancelotti has told Neymar what he needs to do to be part of his 2026 World Cup squad.
Ancelotti expressed his thoughts on the player’s ambition to attend the World Cup this summer after releasing the squad for the international friendly matches against France and Croatia.
The former Real Madrid, AC Milan and Chelsea manager said only players who are fully fit and in great physical condition will be considered for the tournament.
“Neymar can go to the World Cup if he’s 100% fit”.
“I didn’t call Neymar now because he’s not 100%, we need players who are at their best”.
“Neymar has to keep working, playing, showing his qualities and a good physical condition”.
Unfortunately, Neymar has struggled with injuries since returning to his boyhood club Santos last year from Al Hilal.
The 34-year-old former Barcelona and PSG forward has two goals and two assist in four matches for Santos this year.
Ancelotti has handed invitations to Joao Pedro, Luiz Henrique, Vinicius Jr., Endrick, Rayan, Cunha, Raphinha, Igor Thiago, and Martinelli ahead of Neymar
Neymar is looking to make his fourth World Cup appearance, having made his debut on home soil in 2014, where he scored four goals in five matches.
