In the later fixture, Uganda hosted Algeria at Kampala’s Mandela Stadium and suffered a heavy 3‑0 defeat. Ayoub Ghezala opened the scoring just before halftime, followed by second-half goals from Abderrahmane Meziane and Soufiane Bayazid to seal a comprehensive victory for the Desert Foxes.
