Chelsea Football Club defender Tosin Adarabioyo visited Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu on Wednesday, July 23rd, 2025, in the buildup to his grassroots tournament.
Adarabioyo, alongside his family, was hosted at the state house in Marina as he discussed the plans for the tournament with the governor.
The Tosin Adarabioyo Youth Cup, in conjunction with the Lagos State Football Association, kicks off on July 23rd at the Onikan Stadium with four teams participating in the competition.
The teams are 36 Lion FC, Mavilon FC, Seamoriow Football Academy, and a team representing the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA).
Tosin Adarabioyo helped Chelsea win the maiden edition of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup with a convincing 3-0 victory over reigning European champions PSG two weeks ago.
The Chelsea defender was born to Nigerian parents in the United Kingdom and has featured for the youth teams of the English national team.
Tosin Adarabioyo says he will decide on his international future soon after the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) reportedly contacted him about switching his nationality to Nigeria.
