Chelsea end winless streak with win against Wolves

Chelsea secured a much-needed 3-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers at Stamford Bridge on Monday, ending a five-match winless streak in the Premier League.

The Blues took the lead in the 23rd minute when defender Tosin Adarabioyo capitalized on a loose ball following a corner, slotting it past Wolves’ goalkeeper José Sá. This marked Adarabioyo’s first league goal for Chelsea since joining the club.

However, just before halftime, Chelsea’s goalkeeper Robert Sánchez mishandled a corner, allowing Matt Doherty to equalize for Wolves. Sánchez’s error raised questions about his reliability between the posts.

In the 60th minute, Marc Cucurella restored Chelsea’s lead by converting a close-range opportunity, marking his 100th Premier League appearance with a crucial goal.

Five minutes later, Noni Madueke sealed the victory by adding a third goal. A well-executed free kick by Cole Palmer found Trevoh Chalobah, whose header was finished off by Madueke.

Trevoh Chalobah, recently recalled from his loan at Crystal Palace, delivered an impressive performance, completing 96% of his passes and contributing both defensively and offensively. His presence bolstered Chelsea’s defense, which had been under scrutiny in recent matches.

Reece James also made a significant impact, excelling in both defensive duties and offensive support, earning high praise for his performance.

This victory propels Chelsea back into the Premier League’s top four, overtaking Manchester City and Newcastle United. The Blues now sit with 40 points, trailing league leaders Liverpool by 10 points. Their next challenge is a crucial match against Manchester City, which could have significant implications for the title race.
