Cole Palmer scored twice from the penalty spot as Chelsea came from two goals down to snatch a 4-3 win against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday evening.
The hosts quickly went 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes through Dominic Solanke and Dejan Kulusevski after Marc Cucurella slipped twice which required him to change his boots afterwards.
Chelsea got one back through Jadon Sancho who played a long range effort which came in off the post and past Fraser Forster as the first half ended 2-1 in favour of the hosts.
Chelsea roared back after the break and it paid off as Moises Caicedo won a penalty on the hour mark which Cole Palmer coolly converted.
Enzo Fernandez completed the comeback smashing a volley into the back of the net after a deflected Palmer shot fell into his path.
Not too long after, Tottenham conceded their second penalty of the night after Pape Sarr felled Palmer in the box. Palmer made it two for him and four for Chelsea with a delightful Panenka penalty past the helpless Forster.
Son reduced the arrears in the sixth minute of stoppage time, but couldn’t help his side avoid their seventh defeat of the league season.
The win places Enzo Maresca’s men just within four points of leaders, Liverpool who have a game in hand.
