Matheus Cunha scored the only goal of the game as Manchester United beat Chelsea at Stamford Bridge to move the Red Devils closer to Champions League football while burying Chelsea’s.
The Brazilian forward buried a one-time shot into the far corner from a sublime pass from Bruno Fernandes down the flanks a few times before the break.
Chelsea started the game as the better side and almost scored in the opening quarter as Estevao’s shot came off the back of the left post.
Liam Delap thought he had given Chelsea the equaliser in the 38th minute but his goal was ruled offside.
Delap struck the crossbar with a fine header in the second half as Chelsea pushed for an equaliser.
The tie ended 1-0 in favour of Manchester United as the Red Devils picked up their second-ever Premier League double over Chelsea.
Chelsea have now lost four consecutive home matches in the Premier League for the first time since 1998.
The result leaves Chelsea in sixth outside of the automatic qualification spot for the Champions League with five matches left to play.
