Rangers striker, Cyriel Dessers has completed a permanent move to Panathinaikos, bringing an end to his two-year spell at Ibrox.

The 30-year-old Nigerian international finalised the switch to Athens on transfer deadline day, signing a three-year contract with the Greek champions. The deal is believed to be worth between £3.5 million and €5 million.

Rangers confirmed his departure in a statement, thanking their former No.9 for his contribution and wishing him well in the next chapter of his career.

Dessers, who was seen waving to the home support during Sunday’s goalless Old Firm derby, also posted an emotional message to fans, describing it as “an absolute honour” to lead the line for the club.

Signed from Cremonese in 2023, Dessers scored more than 50 goals in 115 appearances and finished last season as the Premiership’s top scorer. His record made him a key figure in the Rangers attack, though his performances often drew mixed reviews from supporters.
