Getafe head coach José Bordalás has appealed to the hierarchy of the club not to sell Super Eagles midfielder, Chrisantus Uche, amid an imminent move to Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Bordalás says the 22-year-old is vital to his plans and remains a very important player in his squad. The former Valencia stressed that Uche’s departure will affect the team greatly.
He also added that the team cannot continue to rebuild every season, as it keeps selling its best players when suitors send offers.
Bordalás expressed his opinion on the matter after Getafe’s win over Sevilla at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán on Monday night.

“Let’s hope he doesn’t leave. I’m against him leaving; he’s a very important player, and this becomes more difficult every day,” Bordalás said in his post-match conference after the win at Sevilla.
“We can’t start from scratch every season without knowing the squad we’ll have. If Uche leaves, we have a very serious problem.
“I understand the situation, but we can’t be at the mercy of selling a player as important as Uche.”
Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers are close to agreeing a €20 million fee with Getafe for Chrisantus Uche after days of negotiations.
Chrisantus Uche was arguably the best player at the club last season as he scored four goals, provided six assists in 33 La Liga matches.
Despite his likely move away from the club, Uche was on for the entire duration of the match as Getafe beat Sevilla 2-1 away from home.
Getafe’s president Ángel Torres says he is left with no choice but to sell Chrisantus Uche to meet La Liga’s financial regulations.
