Aliyu Zubairu has a new job a few weeks after the Flying Eagles’ below-par performance at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Chile.
The former El Kanemi Warriors head coach has been appointed as the gaffer of Egypt’s second division side, Telecom Egypt.
Aliyu Zubairu was unveiled as the new manager of the side on Sunday, November 2nd, after signing a two-year contract.
Zubairu led the Flying Eagles to a third-place at the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt but lost in the second round of the World Cup.
The former Gombe United coach joins the growing list of Nigerian coaches to have coached abroad as he takes on a new challenge in his coaching career.
Aliyu Zubairu is tasked with the responsibility of securing promotion into the top division within two years.
Telecom Egypt are currently 7th on the league table with 18 points from 11 matches so far this season.
