Enugu Rangers showed grit and tenacity as they toppled Rivers United to the top of the Nigeria Premier League with three matches left.

The Flying Antelopes came from a goal down to claim maximum points over rivals Enyimba at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday night.

After a goalless affair in the first half, Wonah Williams put the visitors ahead five minutes into the second half to unsettle the nerves of the host.

However, Chidozie Iwundu bagged his ninth goal of the season as he pounced on a rebound to restore parity for the host after the hour mark.

Seven minutes later, Ifeanyi Onyebuchi gave Enugu Rangers the lead from a brilliant finish to send the fans into a frenzy.

The maximum points take Enugu Rangers to the top of the table following Rivers United’s loss at Kano Pillars.
