The Nigeria Premier Football League produced excitement on Sunday with five matches delivering goals, comebacks, and vital wins.

Shooting Stars finally broke their winless run with a 2–1 victory over Kun Khalifat in Ibadan. The result, their first of the season, was greeted with relief from fans who had grown frustrated by the club’s poor start.

In Yenagoa, Nasarawa United stunned Bayelsa United 2–1, overturning a first-half deficit with two quick goals after the break. The Solid Miners showed strong resilience and kept themselves in the early title conversation.
El-Kanemi Warriors recorded a narrow 1–0 win over Warri Wolves in Maiduguri, with a 19th-minute strike enough to separate the sides in a tight contest.
The day’s most open game came in Minna, where Niger Tornadoes outgunned Ikorodu City 4–2. The home side’s attacking display delighted their supporters, though defensive lapses kept the visitors in the contest until late on.
With these results, Enyimba remain top of the standings, Shooting Stars have finally gained momentum, and Nasarawa United’s away form continues to underline their ambitions for the season.
