Europa League: Victor Osimhen outstanding as Galatasaray v Dynamo Kyiv ends in a thriller
Victor Osimhen was impressive as Galatasaray marked the resumption of the Europa League with a six-goal thriller against Dynamo Kyiv at the Rams Park.
The Super Eagles striker was on target as the Turkish champions threw away a two-goal advantage in the second half on Tuesday evening.
Colombian defender Davinson Sanchez gave Galatasaray the lead six minutes into the match with powerful header from a corner-kick.
Abdulkerim Bardakci doubled the lead for the home side as his long range strike took a deflection into the net.
Victor Osimhen came close to scoring but Ruslan Neshcheret saved his first attempt while his second blocked.
DynamoKyiv got back into the gane just before the half-time whistle. Vladyslav Vanat received Vitaliy Bulyaskky pass with great composure before burying the ball into the back of the net.
The first half ended with Galatasaray with a slim win and being the better side.
Victor Osimhen eventually got his goal a few minutes into the second half. The 26-year-old striker converted a penalty to increase Galatasaray’s lead.
Ruslan Neshcheret denied Osimhen from open play as he pulled off a stunning save to stop his header from crossing the goal line.
Andriy Yarmolenko took advantage of a loose ball from a corner-kick and rifle the ball into the net from close range to reduce the deficit.
The Ukranian forward bagged his second on the night from a brilliant header to make it 3-3 as Galatasaray’s defense fell apart.
Victor Osimhen almost gave Galatasaray a late win in added time but once again, Ruslan Neshcheret made a glorious save to deny the Super Eagles forward.
