Barcelona forward Ansu Fati has completed a one-year loan move from Barcelona to Monaco ahead of the new football season.
The 22-year-old forward, touted to mirror Lionel Messi, especially after inheriting the famous number 10 jersey, has struggled with injuries in recent times.
Ansu Fati was ruled out for nine months in 2020 after suffering a knee injury in the 3-1 loss to Real Madrid in the El Clásico.
The Spanish forward suffered a hamstring injury in 2022 after Barcelona’s 3-2 loss to Athletic Bilbao and was out for three months.
Fati spent the 2023/2024 season at Premier League side Brighton Hove Albion and scored his first goal in the 6-1 loss to Aston Villa.
On his return from the loan spell, Barcelona’s coach Hansi Flick openly said the player needs “rough work” in order for him to get a chance in his team.
Ansu Fati joins former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Pogba, and Tottenham defender Eric Dier as new signings at Monaco.
The deal comes with an option to buy for €11 million.
